I have never painted in anime style, but I wanted to try.This, as you can read, Sophie Hatter from "Howl's Moving Castle", I relied on what is described in the book, because I do not remember what she looks like in Hayao MiyazakiXD

Howl about ... Sophie was easier to draw because I have forgotten how it looks in the film. There is quite is tatty, but Howl ... This image let go out of my head is not easy, he is too perfect.

It's hard for me to let go of the image the movie left on my head too XD
Especially because in House of Many Ways it's said his hair is kind of curly, but in the movie it's so damn straight lol.
And I saw DWJ saying somewhere that he has a long, angular Welsh face. But I don't know what that means exactly, for I don't know what Welshmen look like hahahaha. I even googled a guy she said to have the kind of face structure she imagined him to have, but she said it like, 15 years ago and I can't seem to find images of the guy back then lol.

Curly hair, I slightly imagine. Maybe he straightened them for fashion? Having magic is worthless. Really, it is a trifle.
Long, angular face ... My favorite type. And I do not know how to look "Welshmen look". And if I draw it, it hardly again in the anime style, it was exeperimental. But anything is possible

Oh, this is what DWJ said about the guy (in 2001 XD):
"I've not come across anyone who could play Howl so far. How about discovering a new actor for it? Howl has a long, bony Welsh face, like Rob Howley in the Welsh rugby team, only much more light-hearted and mobile (though naturally capable of going into an extreme sulk). He needn't be very tall, though taller than Sophie."
And I found an interview in which she talks about who could play Howl in a movie again quite recently:
"I'm afraid I'm very out of touch with actors these days. One thing I will say, though, and that is if a real life actor were to play Howl in Howl's Moving Castle, I would not chose someone pretty, like Howl in Miyazaki's animation: I would choose a Welsh actor with a long, bony face, handsome enough in his way, but not pretty. "

This quote was taken from the end of the book, where Howl recalled first meeting with Sophie.
Here is the exact quote from the beginning of the book:
But when she at last put a gray shawl over her gray dress and went out into the street, Sophie did not feel excited. She felt overwhelmed. There were too many people rushing past, laughing and shouting, far too much noise and jostling. Sophie felt as if the past months of sitting and sewing had turned her into an old woman or a semi-invalid.

Of course you should continue to read this wonderful book! In the book, Sophie is more beautiful on a very small number of pages, unfortunately.
