Description The stamp is actually an eraser, not linoleum, but that seemed to be the closest category, so whatever.

This would be my... fourth attempt at rubberstamp-carving. I'm not very good at it, but it's really fun and addictive. There are loads of other artists doing it, and tutorials and stuff online.

I don't have a use for the labels just yet, but I thought I'd try out my name after doing other people's names for a few stamps...

I love how the rainbow one stands out more!

But so lawaaa. <3 It looks so neat and cutesy. I really wanted to try something like this out, but never thought of using rubber. D:

Hehe yeah, but colouring the stripes takes forever... They should make rainbow ink pads...

Anyway, yeahhh erasers are perfect! Cheap, small, and easy to carve, just with a craft knife.

They really should! >:C That would be awesome really.

I don't have a craft knife. /sob But anyways yeah, I should give it a go one of these days :'D !

I've had a go at that it's rather fun! Glad to see your putting your getting down to crafting

Hehe yeah, luckily I bought some cheap erasers some time ago so this isn't an expensive hobby at all. Thanks a lot!

Keep hobbies are the best you start getting even more resourceful then, I'm trying like hell to make a dent on my fabric stash.... -_-;

Gosh, at least you have a stash to use! I so miss my (rather small, but still) fabric stash back home -- I have nothing here to use! (Except for old clothes... ah ok I see your point about resourcefulness. )

Awesome I've done carving into lino (on a bigger scale, though) and it can be ... bloody hard sometimes hahaha... so I can't imagine how tough it would be on such a mini scale Great job, it looks really neat Cute labels, too... you should open up a handmade shop (on etsy) and send them off with your items

Oooh, lino looks way tougher, cutting erasers is like cutting butter. I know, I've always wanted to open a shop but I don't really know what to (/would) sell and all that...

this is absolutely amazing! im am totally inspired to make my own now! i especially love the rainbow coloured one...howd u do that?

aneesah In reply to inspyerd [2009-04-13 10:35:53 +0000 UTC]

Haha, since I only had a blank ink pad, I grabbed my cheapo kiddy magic markers and coloured the stamp with it, before stamping. I wouldn't suggest you use it often, coz the rubber doesn't handle... uh, rubbing very well. (You get these fuzzy bits that come off.)

This is by far the best online tutorial I've found on stamp carving: [link] Try it out!
