Description OK, I didn't draw this. I traced all the outlines from a PoA scene, then coloured it in. I'm not good enough (yet) to draw something like this on my own, with no photos or whatever. I'm especially bad with clothes and folds and hair and hands and feet. I used Photoshop's textures for the rocks and wood.

Well I voted for the galaxy one. This a sure a great photo to color. My lil friends and my sis will love this as much as I did. You though color photos was big business in the days you only had
black and white photos.

This is a nice way to learn things too. Next time you do this, try drawing curved lines across the faces to learn how the eyes are lining up and such. Also, make a center line down the face where the nose is. This helps you to determine in what direction the head is turned. Make comparasson measurements to see how to space the eyes and nose and how wide to make the mouth. Of course your lines should not be on your final project but making them will be helpful for you to learn.

This is great, no matter that you traced it, traces turn out flat but as someone said before you've given it volume. I'll be watching you in the future

There is nothing wrong with tracing, it's how i learned to draw, and none of my art turned out this well! I don't trace very much anymore, but I use refreance pictures all the time, so don't worry. I admire your honesty though...

It's still an amazing picture, and don't be afraid to draw more like it! In fact... please do more like this.

See you around DA,
Molly

Thank you very much, but what if I can't do something like this again without tracing? I'll feel really bad and useless...Maybe I should just practice more before attempting something like this from scratch.

Well, Rome wasn't built in a night eh? And your art won't either... did that make any sence?

This is fabulous, and don't kid yourself! Your an WONDERFUL artist, and don't feel useless. This is fab! Practice, try, and trace all you want... and if anybody looks down on you for it.... well that that's their problem.

Oh, here it is

This is really, really amazing. It looks just perfect I would never have that kind of patience to trace that from image, I find it easier to just draw the thing I admire your commitment. And even after tracing you went back and added volume and shading, an increadible job!

The door, their hair, and especially the rocks; they look just fantastic. I read the first three harry potter books in the stretch of about a month when I was in 6th grade (I stayed up all night!) but since the 4th book came out I just stopped... But now I'm scraping up money to go buy/see the movies and get those two missing books hehe, something just kinda sparked I guess

Just a wonderful job, again.

I'm so...touched. THANK YOU! It's comments like this that make me have the patience to draw and paint (digitally, traditional is too...hm, messy). You HAVE to get the books, books before movies, definitely.

Heh, I have to finish all the school books first, I have all this Modern European History AP Honors-class stuff the shove into my head first. But I was watching POA and at some parts I was like, "Hey, I remember that... yeah those dementors were frikkin freaky..." but other parts I was just like, "Shit, since when did they go back in time???" Maybe I shouldn't have stayed up that late

aneesah In reply to straightjacket [2004-06-27 10:22:38 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I forget stuff like that too, so I always make sure that I read the book right before the movie comes out. But they leave out a lot in the movies anyway, so it doesn't really matter.
