I don't think this would happen though...don't get me wrong I love these ships. But in the manga, especially the dead moon circus story arc, as they are looking at their true dreams they find they want to be a sailot scout, protecting their princess and world. They don't want riches or a husband, they want to be who they are. Takeuchi is trying to express that in the end. They are content and happy with their friendship with Usagi/Neo Queen Serenity. They love her and that's who they need to protect, to devote their lives to. Minako said this in the Sailor V adventures when she found out who she truly was. So don't be too sad, it's a great romance to imagine but the canon part is just as beautiful, their friendship forever strong ;3
