Description In Slavic mythology, Rusalka or Nymph (PL: Rusałka) was a demonic being who took the form of a beautiful, naked girl with long, green hair and black eyes full of life and love. Her hair was often woven with flowers.⠀
There are water, field and forest types of rusalka.⠀
The places where rusalka lived were the banks of rivers, lakes or mountains, forest thickets or green rye.⠀

Rusalka came into existence when a young girl committed a suicide by drowning because of unhappy love, or died just before or after her wedding. If she died in or near a river or a lake would come back to haunt that waterway.⠀

Rusalka appeared during the new moon and attracted young men, seducing them by either her looks or her voice, whom they killed by tickling or dancing until they die.⠀
