Alright, doing this on my phone so let's see how this goes.
First off, let's start with the things that catch my eye. The flowers have a reflection, I know that they are closer to the water than the horsie but I still think that the horse should still have a reflection in the water. Also I would have put soft little water marks on the belly as a refection off the water, like a soft blue or a very low white. The tail also should be darker where it hits the water, maybe with little ripples almost! The mane looks fan-freaking-tasitic, btw. Only thing I notice is that on the other side of the horse the longer part of the mane should be shadowed from the horses neck. It also looks a little detached from the neck, kinda harsh on the top of the neck. This could be fixed by smudging out the mane tips to look a bit softer. Same as the tail, it doesn't look like its coming off the right spot, kinda detached too. It is still something that I struggle with, and believe me you did a good job! More fly-aways would look nice, but I'm not one to talk. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/m/m… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="398" title=" (Mad)"/> they suck and are hard to master, so don't stress about that. Did you shadow the mane around the face? I can't really tell, haha. But that would be nice!
That bird is a cutie, he should be casting a shadow on the antler though! Ummm... -thinks- I swur that I'm not just gunna say mean things -- I'm not that much of a butt. XD
The mood you set is amazing, and really that facial marking is just, mm, so sexy. So clean too, I really applaud you for that. Face markings are hard to look natural and clean while not being so straight cut. Your body prep is stunning, better than something that I could have done. It looks sooo smooth and pretty. Those lily's also had such a pretty touch, not a lot of people add things to backgrounds! You did a fantastic job of putting those legs in the water and making it look natural. That touch of a fade with the ripples are just ahhh, so epic.
I love this, I really do! I don't mean to come across as rude or mean, you know I love you! Hope this helped!

Sym, this looks gorgeous!!It's amazing to see how much you have improved in this piece! The lighting and the markings on the horse are just amazing and you should be really proud of this one
Since you asked for some critique, I can say that I completely agree with all the advice given so far, and I'll try and contribute a little more c:
-I noticed that you added a reflection for the horse, but it should be more prominent - a reflection only reflect what it 'sees', and the horse is opaque in the picture, and it's not letting you see any cliff or anything behind it, so the reflection should be too!
- I think the lilys' reflections should be rippled. (I think my grammar is wrong o.o)
-The cutting on the antlers seems a little choppy(which contrasts with the rest of your perfect cutting-it's the only reason I noticed it!)
-The flow of the mane is especially good, but the forelock seems to be being blown backwards slightly, which isn't realistic, as the rest of the hair and water is so calm c: (By the way, I ADORE that bit of hair resting on the antlers!! Details <3)
-I would say that the hair would realistically be carrying most of its colours from the background, so it might benefit from some pinky/grey-y/ brown tones.
Again, I think this is beautiful, and I can't wait to see you grow even more as an artist in the future!

Very pretty! What is your mane + tail technique?
i see you have a requested critique - but i suck at those so
i thought i'd give you a little advice on painting manes and tails , since i use a mouse like you
try using a smaller brush, I usually use certain brushes in this order:
5 px for base [ 10 px for filling it in ]
3 px for highlights and lowlights
1 px for lightest color.
tips:
- try having more fly-outs
- since the tail is in water it'd be darker at the tips bc its soaked in water and water makes your hair look 'darker'
- shadow under mane
- add more shading to mane

all that really matters for the brush sizes is
bigger background = bigger brush sizes
