Description
Not far from where I live there's a ruined church standing on a cliff edge. Actually, there's only one wall left standing - the other three were taken by the sea. The church was built in the 15th century; legend has it that after it was built, fishermen from that village caught a mermaid in their nets; they wanted to release her, but the village priest insisted that she be baptised. So she was put in a wash tub filled with holy water and locked over night in the church. In the morning, they found her dead. To avenge her death, her father, the king of the Baltic Sea, destroyed the church.Related content

Haha, no, it's an actual legend (and not the only one pertaining to the ruins). BTW, here's a nice shot of the place: [link] . I live 15 kms from there. And as for lore, there also was a sunken city and a legendary Viking stronghold in the region

Well my Dad explained it as a bunch of teenagers starting a rumor. But then, he's never been one to credit the paranormal. He's a military man born and bred.

By the by, do you have Amazon.com where you are? Because if you do, you should check out the Animal Planet documentaries on the possible existance of mermaids. There are two. Mermaids: the Body Found, and Mermaids: New Evidence.
How much of them are fact and fiction I leave up to you. But I tell you, I walked away from those documentaries bursting with ideas!

I know a lady whose late husband was a well-known sasquatch researcher. I talked to her and her daughter-in-law and they both told me about their sasquatch sightings in Canada. Very matter-of-factly

This is beautiful! I love the pale colors you used for her skin tone, it really does make her seem eerie and otherworldly, I also like the seaweed trailing over the tiles and her tail, it looks as though she really has just been dumped there
