Not in this account. Before in another account. One day I'll upload it when I'm in the right mood. (I was in my own house, lol...no interested bystanders).

I was thinking that except I wasn't sure of my understanding of the language. I really liked the film. It's an awesome story. I don't believe there was ever any mention of it in school when we studying the second World War. Maybe because it didn't involve Australia. I looked into it on my own and it looks fairly confusing. It almost appears that the Allied powers were supporting both Finland and the Soviets during the 'Continuation war'.
I think the Soviets may of been the ones who got the splinters. I also saw what you mean about how bad some films have been dubbed.

I had checked on the book but it was a little out of my price range, even second hand. Yes I've been watching it on Youtube and I watched the older version too. I watched some other videos too but they weren't in English and I'm not sure if they were the Winter War or the Continuation war.
I'm assuming that when WW2 is taught in school it's such a big subject they have to focus on bits that involve your native country. Australia was mainly focused on the Japanese and I think the Americans were the same but I'm not sure. I watched some clips of "The Pacific" about US Marines fighting. Seriously gruesome stuff. Yeah HMAS Sydney was a kick in the nuts for sure.

Here the latest translation is from 2015 and it costs 15 euros, paperback version. But posting it to there would cost +15 euros, I had to have the book to know the exact price. There's only one film about Winter War as far as I remember, and there's snow or at least dirty snow in it's battle scenes and solders are more ragged and dirty looking. I've seen the Pacific series and just read the Eugene Sledge's book "With the Old Breed" and the book is far better than the tv series.

I found it on Amazon for about the same price...still a little out of my price range right now but I put it on my list for my post university reading.

I've haven't read the English version so I don't know how good the translation is. Almost every character has a different dialect that they use, so it's interesting how the translator has done that. It's good book, there's so many idioms that are still is use that originate from that book.
