What program and techniques do you use? I tend to find that Photoshop is best for colouring, and the polygonal lasso is most useful when it comes to shading

HI...well i use photoshop 7.0 and a mouse to colour with. I dont have a tablet so it's much more harder to use a mouse but i try my best. I think i can do better though...it's too bad...

Ya i use that lasso tool a lot too just to select the areas and stuff...um i don't really have a technique i use...i just put all my base colours first and then go back and add shades and highlights, and that's about it

Yeah, sounds pretty much how I do things I guess I just need to practice my linework, since I tend to find that the shading just comes naturally when the lines are right.
I've got a tablet, but it isn't much use in Photoshop, since it isn't that responsive It's better in OpenCanvas, but I still like doing the lines by hand I'm just about to get my hands on a thinner inking pen, so I think that should help too. I find that thinner lines are generally better
