Description Months have passed since I submitted my last picture ... I'm glad to have more time for dA again from now on! :]

As you may think this picture refers to the recent and still ongoing disaster in Japan.

So this is my 'contribution' to it. These are my origami cranes because I believe there's still hope.

I do know that this picture won't help the people in Japan.
But I do believe that it's most important to remember this disaster and to remember that it's still not over at all.
We musn't forget it - because that would be fatal.

A quite simple picture for the beginning ... I hope you like it though!

More art coming soon β™₯

This is stunning! And I just love that you made this pic a contribution to the catastrophe of Japan! I fully agree with you! We mustn't forget what happened this year and we certainly must learn from this!
Your progress is incredibly thrilling <33

Thanks a lot! :] To be honest I drew the outlines of every single crane with a pencil, it took me quite long haha.

Beautiful.

Everything about this picture is beautiful. The color you use sparingly, the detail in her face and the paper cranes, the message.

Such a beautiful tribute.

Of course. They are a high income nation that have the resources they need for this situation. Plus God isn't going to allow something too bad to happen to that nation (and specifically the island Honshu (Main Island)). Besides, the last time I check everything was just about back to normal in parts of the eastern regions of Honshu that was affected with some or few differences.

Also, you are right in what you say but I am concern that people in general have forgotten about another nation that is in way more need of help than Japan. It's the Republic of Haiti. They still haven't entirely recover from the earthquake they had last year (the part that was affected that is) Plus they are having a tough time as a nation due the nation being very poor (thanks to the events that happen in their history) and their water supply is terrible in some parts. They have no choice but to drink and bathe in that water and people have gotten sick and die doing that too. In general it's much worse over there then it is those eastern regions of Honshu and Japan in general.

Now as for the picture it's looks very interesting. Having her tears turn from stars to colourful paper cranes is a unique idea. Also the picture kinda reminds me of one of those psychedelic pictures from the 60s.Overall really good job.

Angel-Kikyou In reply to Aquasakura [2011-05-08 13:34:32 +0000 UTC]

They may have many resources to help themselves but still there're many things wich aren't back to normal yet. Not to forget about the nuclear disaster they're going through, the consequences of this part of the disaster will be absolutely interminable.

I agree - people tend to forget too easily because one disaster replaces the other but without resolving it of course. Haiti is still a big problem, I do know that.
So I didn't draw the picture to say that Japan is the only problem on this whole world. This would be stupid.

However, I'm glad you like this picture and the idea behind it
Oh, I have to take a look at these pictures from the 60s, I haven't looked at one yet.
Thank you for the comment! ^^

(continue from last comment due to accidentally letting the computer send my message)

I see you are aware of the problems still facing the country of Haiti and yeah that would be stupid to think that one certain country in the would is having problems when there are other nations that are less fortunate then the other. The reason I brought that up because of what a person mention to me one time that was pertaining to a rant I made last month that is in a way related to what we are talking about (You can read it at my blog if you want [link] ) That people tend to get so busy/focus on other things in life that they either forget or don't care about what is happening to people in different parts of the world. Later on what she said sunk into me. You see, I would admit that I have forgotten about Haiti until recently because of life that I was focus on. But I told myself that I was not forget about Haiti again. That I was going to keep that country in mind. Not always in a way to the point I would feel sad about it everyday (after all I can't be miserably about a certain issue forever. I have to get on with my life) but just not to forget about it to the point it becomes early non existent in my memory. And help the country if possible. Currently I join a website that is helping the people in the different towns of Haiti to get a good source of water supply. It's a website where you can monitor their progress and I planning on donating to it later this month. You can take a look at it here [link]

As for psychedelic art you can take a look at these websites: [link] [link]

Sorry it took so long to reply.

As for your comment I say "just about everything" is back to normal in that part of Honshu. The last time I check there were some shops that had shortage of food as well as their were trains (or some trains) that were not running at that time, but other then that everything was fine for the most part. Also, the radiation wouldn't be interminable because at some point the Earth is going to cleanse itself. At least that is what I learn from watching this show a bit that talked about what would happen if humans left the Earth. The show mention that as nature begins to reclaim everything the Earth goes through this purifying process. Getting rid of all the pollution that happen when humans were around. I'm not saying that humans are going to go away or anything like that but that the Earth would at some point purify itself. But it would be a very long process.

Also, sorry if it seemed like I was making it seemed like you were thinking that Japan was the only country that was having problems.

Angel-Kikyou In reply to Aquasakura [2011-05-26 22:03:11 +0000 UTC]

No problem, I'm very sorry for my super-late reply but I was very busy. >.>

Well, no doubt that one day the radiation will be gone. But this day is far far away and until then lots of people will suffer because of it.
But anyway, we just have to see how everything will go on.

Don't worry, I just wanted to clarify that I'm not that blind to think Japan is the only problematic country. ^^

It's indeed a big problem that people don't care about other countries as long as their own country is fine. It's good to keep Haiti in mind since we mustn't forget about it. I also will read your blog and take a look at the website as soon as I have the time

Thanks for the links for psychodelic art, it's surely interesting. ^^

Aquasakura In reply to Angel-Kikyou [2011-05-27 23:04:16 +0000 UTC]

I see. That's alright. I understand. I'm glad everything is alright at least between us. Also, Ukraine had the same problem as Honshu years ago and they seem to be doing fine, though I don't know much about the nation. Well, I'm sure there fine for the most part and that part of Honshu would be too. ^ ^

. . .

Yeah! But if we look at it from a positive way there are still people who are thinking about Haiti, such as us. And some of those people are doing what they can to help the people of that nation. Also, if you do read my blog I hope you enjoy. I wrote that rant in spur of the moment so it's not entirely professionally written. Plus I felt that I didn't express a deep enough message (I even think I get a little bit cheesy) in one paragraph. Just in case you don't see the rant I linked to (because of there being
another post) just go click on the rant section and scroll down to the bottom. Seeing that was my first post in my blog it should be at the bottom.

Oh and you welcome. ^_^

Yes, I hope so ...

It's okay for rants to be personally.

Aquasakura In reply to Angel-Kikyou [2011-06-03 18:30:03 +0000 UTC]

Good! ^_^

Back then I use to not be aware of what was happening outside my home but only because I didn't have the thought to learn about the different places of the world at that time. Also, I didn't want to travel much and prefer to stay at my home so I didn't bother about learning about the different places in the world. That is until I learn about Japanese manga and anime. When I did it made me think that since Japan has something this good then there must be other interesting things the world has to offer and I became interested in traveling and learning about the world. My case is different because when people usually get into manga and anime made in Japan they only become interested in that place while I got interested in that nation plus more. I'm right now slowly learning about Honshu, Hokkaido, and Haiti.

Also, I heard they have an idea for dealing with the radiation but from the idea of it it seems more like they are working to replace all the nuclear plants they have then to get rid of the radiation, which I am all for by the way because I never like the idea of having nuclear plants anyway. The idea of having one makes me a bit nervous. It just it's not really dealing with the current problem. Plus there is this other problem I have with this idea. You see,the idea to build this belt like thing around the moon that would transfer the sun's solar rays or power to Earth where they can use to power their stuff. I don't know if I want to see a belt like thing surrounding the moon. I would much rather if they build solar plants at least (if it's possible).

As for the rant. It's not the fact it's personal that I have a problem with (rants are suppose to be personal anyway) it's just that I felt that I didn't do a entirely good job with it. But thanks anyway. ^_^ Enjoy the rant of you get the time to read it.
