Description One for all, Brisbane Enterprising Multicultural Arts Centre (BEMAC),2009

one for all was developed by Karen Shapcott Catriona Holland, Pete
Macfarlane, Candy Rosmarin, Warwick Pascoe, Amal Suleman, Samsun Joseph
and Ahmadshah Nazari of the BEMAC. The artwork was a community-driven,
cross-cultural art exchange for young people of migrant and refugee
backgrounds, particularly from Sudanese, somalian and tongan communities.
these young people worked together with professional artists and musicians,
who provided them with the opportunity to exchange stories, music and
experiences.

The engagement process resulted in a temporary art installation at the
cultural forecourt, representing 'memory boxes/suitcases' which conveyed
the stories, memories and dreams of the refugees that have undertaken
remarkable journeys to become valued members of our communities.

This artwork is at Southbank in Brisbane next to the Wheel of Brisbane.
