I did a 'sketchy' value study of this scene, then sat on site this morning while the sun was coming up to paint. It was fun! I'd like to have added in some of the barn swallows that were swooping in and out, but they were so fast in flight I just couldn't quite figure out how to paint them.
12.5 x 18 cm, 5 x 7 inch oil on wooden panel.
