This article is very helpful. I have new Wacom Intuos Pro and Pro Pen 2. I'm using it about 8 hours daily and my nib lasted only 2 months. Suddenly the nib was too small to use tweezers and I tryed with pin. Pin helped me, but it was big struggle.. I thought I was gonna have to buy a new pen. With my old wacom (old 10 years) the nib lasted 5-6 years, not just 2 months. I'm little bit dissapointed.

I had to change my tablet pen nib recently, and it was too small to use tweezers, and I didn't want to use a pin. So instead I got toenail clippers that made it easier to grab onto the nib and pull it out. Now I'm having an issue putting the nib in..Β

Ahhh! What a lifesaver! (or rather what a moneysaver) i noticed how the nib of my pen was too short to get out of the pen. Then i googled for an answer on how to get it out, and someone said to use a nail clipper (what dumb i idea) so i tried it, and ended up cutting it shorter XD i obviously paniced, and looked for another way to get it out. Thats when i saw this, and it did wonders! Tysm! <3

tysm, this is very helpful!
for anyone not understanding the instructions, this is what you do
1. get a safety pin or sewing needle
2. put the pin into the hole for the nib, right next to the worn out nib
3. slowly lift up and turn the pin upwards
4. use your hand to hold the nib once it is out enough, put the pin down, and pull out the nib completely
it helps to keep your pen tip facing down, as the nib may just fall out once it is far enough out.
heres a few scribbles to help you understand(not following my numbered instructions to the numbers) ==>

AHHHHHH THIS HELPED SO MUCH! This worked so much more quickly than everything else I tried, especially since the nib was worn down so much it was level with the actual pen. I cannot thank you enough for this <3

not sure if you use this site anymore, but seriously though thank you so much for posting this if you ever come back to dA I owe you my first born. My pen nib was literally level with the pen and I had no idea how to grip it until I found this journal
I ended up doing your solution for like 30 minutes?? I first used some sewing needles and then I got frustrated and used a baby pin and just stabbed it in the nib over and over again until it came out, causing lots of tears and relief from meΒ
I was so frustrated I was about to cry lmaoo I was seriously considering buying a whole new pen. Please people try the solution before you decide on buying a new one it really does work
The opening of my tablet pen is a little bit wider after all that stabbing but I couldn't care less at this point
seriously thank you I love you

What I found was fairly easy was using scissor blades to get a grip on the nib, and then pulling that out. Didn't work for me now, but a few months ago, when my nib was a bit longer, it worked really well. To get my nib out now, I closed the scissors and tapped on the top of the pen to get the nib kinda out. Then (don't read further if you're a germaphobe!!) I used my teeth to pull the nib out. Actually kinda gross when you think about it, but hey, it works!
