Description
Here are the semi-finalists of the AFL, an OC fighting tournament. More details can be found here: [link]So after 67 fighters and 480 entries within a month, the fighting tournament boiled down to six fighters fighting off in a 3-way semi-final match ups. As a reward for making it this far, I decided to draw up these characters in my SuperDate animated style. [link]

Thanks. I think the image looks a little stretched to me for some reason, stretched out vertically. I was working on widescreen on my cintiq...maybe it messed it up abit, or maybe its dA's display...*maybe i should see what the download looks like*

I would like to animated some of the characters like this, but really, i doubt it will happen. Maybe the odd test or something, maybe AC meeting superdude, who knows.

Even though this style was originally made for Superdude who was big and muscular, I think it almost works better for skinny/slender people specifically girls.

you really think so? I aint a fan much of the girls in this style, i dont think i got a design nailed yet. Its pretty easy and straight forward for any muscular guys, but skinny girls....hard to get my head around.

Truthfully Masak was scared of his opposition who were all able of turning the robot into scrap metal. He ran away to fight an opponent he knew he could actually beat, and just watched AFL on his tv, wrapped up in his PJs and slippers, cuddling his favourite doll. The end.

I think actually adding some colour to the background also helped the pic rather than boring white. Glad you still dig the style...i feared people have gotten bored of it and i should never do it again for a while. lol

thanks man. its a nice style to revert to whenever stuck for ideas, nice to just doodle in it. These ones were the first from scratch drawins i did with my new cintiq, and was probably quicker than normal pencil and pen inking.
i gotta work on more interesting poses though i think rather than a default.

yeah, but that's the only hard part about a stubby style (or chibi if you will) is that the posing doesn't come off very dynamic in all action positions.

she has lips, just not very thick or very red. But hey, at least she has both lips (full view or download), i usually just draw the girls with the upper lip, so its a first
