Full View is a must!Character:
I was commissioned to do this dark elf character from the MMORPG EverQuest. The character is called Faxeus, and he is equipped with a dagger and sword.
Probably one of my best colouring jobs to date. Enjoyed doing it too. Spent a little longer than I had hoped for, but I am pleased with the result.
This is the low-res version just to save you all loading time. The high-res version can be found in my scraps.

Just a tip if you are ever asked to do a dark elf, take any human photo with decent lighting and make it a negative in almost any viewer program, you will have a colour pallette for the Dark Elves in EQ. they are like a negative of woodelves in size and colour.

ah, cool tip there.,, never realised. i was just doing it based off reference pics...thats kinda using the colours from there. but i will try that out next time, cheers

thanks again for the advice. Yeh, I wouldnt mind doing fantasy again. I did actually have a lord of the rings fanart project lined up for the future. MMORPG wise, it does dominate. I usually see alot of coh or cov commissions, but thats probably because of the things I watch.
In the end, I just love drawing. the fantasy angle is new and fresh to me because I dont draw it usually, and thats what I love. Drawing something different.

Great work on the colouring on this - it really is a great deal better than your previous pictures (which were still pretty good).
The drawing is great too, though I suspect his waist could have been a little slimmer as it looks quite wide.
Great work though - definetly something to be proud of.

thanks alot man. yeh, that waist area is something I aint quite happy about. But I do feel the colouring is alot more improved. Probably because I actually took time with it and did multiple levels of colours and was more careful. Its a lesson I should learn to take time of colouring to get more results like this, but the work is quite draining.

I am glad you like it. I worked hard on the details, I pride myself as a perfectionist. The story crafted conjures greats images to mind with this drawing. Seems very fitting.
