An animation!? Cor blimey!This animation has been sitting on my computer for nearly a year, I just never got around to upload it. So I enhanced it with some sound effects.
Sorry for the picture, but the linetest gets dark with the more layers there are.
Anyway, it was a one week animation project given to use by the Studio creators that owned Scratch & Sniff.

I think it was. This was an animation for the real show, but I think the studio kindly let us use their characters and layouts.

I know, Ive had a load of animation collected up in my DA watchlist for months, cos it's not the kind of deviation you can just look at quickly and leave a short comment if you like it.. - I like to take more time over lookin' at animation cos obviously I know how much time/effort the artist put into it!

D: how long did this take you? how many pages? I want to do a hand animation to last about 3 minutes to go with a song... should I save my hands the trouble and cut them off now and get robot hands that will never tire..?

honestly, i cant remember how many drawings this was. It took a week to do though I think. I am actually working on a short film that is about 3 minutes long. It depends on the content of the film and such for how long it will take, but I nearly finished animating it in about 4-5 weeks. Depends if you are happy with your first tests or want to go back and change things too. Although with a song, it could lend itself to looping animation, like repeating the same thing for the chorus or something. But you will need hundreds of pieces of paper. If I stacked all the paper from my film, I should use it as a chair. ^_^

heh, thanks alot man. Yeh, the proudest part of this is his head turn at the beginning. I hate one frame as he staggers forward as its abit jarring. The stumble forward was hard because we had to get from being hit to the close up pretty quickly. Glad it has your approval though. lol

this was a real fun project, and really feels like your doing an industry job. You get layouts, so you know how big he has to get at certain points, but you dont get taught perspective i dont think, you just go for it. You'll be fine.

Thanks alot. I hate doing clean up animation though, takes so long to do, and it hurts my hand doing it so long. When I made my film it deformed my little finger from the rubbing on the paper. I have a permanent bump on my pinkie now

i cant do that, i draw and animate quite scruffy. I like the say I sculpt my drawings, but in reality, i just keep drawing over the top and push harder with my pencil. lol It makes clean up harder. :s

Heh, thanks. You'll be able to do it eventually. Just need to break you in on the basics of animation and timing, getting used to drawing in other peoples styles, but then you're ready to go.
