This is absolutely wonderful! The portrait itself is extremely well done, but what really drives it home for me is the background. It has distinct features, yet is subtle enough not to steal the show; and the distribution of light and shadow really tops it off.
Like I said, you're really going into overdrive in your third year of daily drawings; I think this may be the most impressive and visible progress your art has seen in a while (and that is saying quite something considering your steadiness and dedication!).
