Allow me to go on a short rant: This is NOT art. These little shots I've been taking (which all look rather similar now I think about it) are not even close to real art. They're way too easy to create: all I do is take a few objects I happen to have lying around my room, arrange them how I like them, and SNAP. Less than five minutes. Don't mistake this for talent; it's a cop-out. It's me playing with pretty things. There's no soul in it, no real expression from within. Therefor, it is not art; it is PRACTICE for when I really want to begin expressing myself. Critique it as you normally would, but don't look for abstract ideas or inner meanings; there are none.Comments: 4
^^ Well, thank you to all of you, but I'll have to disagree with you. If my 'muse' is simply my own idea of what looks pretty, then I suppose you're right in a way. But these little snapshots aren't really what I want to do. At the risk of being extremely melodramatic, there's something inside me that desperately needs to be expressed, and it's far different from anything I've ever done. I'm not sure how to express it, what medium to use, or even exactly what it is that I'm trying to do. But when it finally comes out, I know I will feel great relief. And I'll be able to really call myself an artist, of SOME sort.

What the heck are you talking about. *chuckles then snickers and chuckles somemore. Its not how fast or how long it takes you to set up an image. Azy look at that pic. Its a plain candle before a book. Its a novel idea. Something that speaks for itself without even a title to describe it. The first thing I thought about when I saw it was some lord in his castle reading his book with candle light. The romantic era for crying out loud. Thats talent. What do you mean you don't have some little muse whispering in your ear. The color is good. The concept is great. Hehe. If you are claiming your just practicing. Then Daaummnn I want to see what you can do when your not practicing.

Deeper meaning or not, they always LOOK very beautiful...who cares if you're a shallow niny void of any artistic talent whatsoever...asthetics! ^^ Kidding of course, you know how I love you, and that is in an energy effecient manner.
