I was going to say there is no way someone had the patience to sit there and paint this with out eating it. Now I see you couldn’t even if you wanted to. I mean unless you enjoy the taste of wax.

I have actually painted real cakes and donuts in a studio setting. The glisten you get from real icing and things can’t be reproduced in wax or plastic objects. The professor I did this for had a dark sense of humor though. He took out a pretty slice of strawberry shortcake and said, “whoever paints it the best, gets it!” And everyone set up for a good ol’ art fight. But he then slapped the cake down on the dirty table we use for all our still life objects without a plate or cover. Everyone (because it was an all day studio, so we hadn’t eaten in a long time) basically yelled out as soon as he did it. He just laughed and walked away. There was a winner, but they weren’t really a winner XD When it came to the donuts, it was really hard to paint a pretty chocolate glazed donut but felt even better to eat after finishing.
