A result of an idea I had
Full view needed.....
When I look at the whirl of flames I see a 'Serpant' thrashing to escape.
Many thanks to my pyromaniac model
and to my partner for building the many torches used, and dealing with all the safety aspects needed
Please DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME!!!!! alot of research went into making this shoot safe!!!!

Okay, I do like this as I'll explain in abit but it has a couple of things that in my mind do let it down abit.
firstly: The tree line, and the ground are both too intrusive. The tree line simply because it's so large within the frame and how it extends into background. The ground for a similar reason, whatever that line is just to the left of the feet it doesn't need to be there, it is too distracting.
secondly: The sky. I'm not sure there's anything you can really do about it on a long exposure shot like this but none the less it's an unwelcome distraction from the main subject in the shot, perhaps some photoshop adjustments (or gimp etc) could render the sky less of a distraction.
HOWEVER that said I do really like the shot. mainly because I feel a strong envy for people who can pull off long exposers with motion that look good rather than...well..crap. (myself being firmly in the latter group) but also because the serpent idea while a very potent one is not what drew me to it. my original mental connections were with infinity. It looks at least to me that there are a number (a finite number

I hope to reshoot in the future, using a different location...Now that I seem to have the 'creating the fire' issue more under control I can make sure the background view is better

whoa...well I guess it does look a tad scary when someone waves around with torches...
could be some satanistic ritual
so did you use torches or those little things on wires that you can swing around in the air (if you get what I mean ^^)...cause I always wanted some of those since Iยดve been to a medieval festival...

was the chief torch maker...he used 2 broom handles, torn sheets, firelighters and meths, with wire to hold it all to gether on the end
