"...Is stronger than Death."

My entry for a contest by . The idea was to draw your Yu-Gi-Oh OC with the guy they loved, and I was placed in the Yugi-Yami-Atem category. So, here it is. Four depictions of the love between Atem/Yami and Nefertiri/Kuinnu, also known as Royalshipping.

Scene 1: The first day that Atem and Nefertiri met. Nefertiri and her younger sister, Sa-Bastet, were summoned to the city to live with their father and eventually enter training to be priestesses. However, both girls made friends on their first day in town. And Nefertiri almost instantly bonded with Atem due to her friendly attitude. She even did some 'fortune telling' to make friends faster, first by telling him that he would be loved by his subjects when he became Pharaoh, and by answering his question of how many years it would be before he married. (The answer was 12 years. And there are 12 petals by the bushes.)

Scene 2: Atem and Nefertiri as adults, 12 years after the first image. Nefertiri was to become a High Priestess of the goddess, Isis, and at this point, Atem was already Pharaoh, even though both of them were still very much in love with each other. However, Nefertiri had made a sort of enemy of High Priest Seth, (or Seto). He feared the power that Nefertiri would have as High Priestess, knowing that she was already a skilled sorceress and had a great deal of influence over the Pharaoh. As such, Seth used the power of his Millennium Rod on Atem to have him violate Nefertiri before her ceremony to become High Priestess. However, this backfired and Atem asked Nefertiri to become his Queen, which she gladly accepted.

Scene 3: A great deal has happened for Nefertiri. She had already given birth to three children and had to keep secrets from her sister, Sa-Bastet and her husband, Pharaoh Atem. Trying to stay true to her duties as a priestess of the goddess Isis, she heads to the temple to pray and give offerings. However, it would prove to be a grave mistake - as Akefia, having his own personal grudge against the Queen, took the chance and killed Nefertiri by stabbing her in the back. Sa-Bastet and Seth were the last ones to arrive, and at first, Atem was ready to accuse Seth of committing such an act. Up to that point, Nefertiri had struggled to keep her sister and Seth apart, even though the two were very much in love. However, after some issues were settled, Sa-Bastet helped to comfort her devistated brother-in-law.

Scene 4: After 5000 years, Atem was awakened by Yugi and came to share a new life with his new friend and partner. And soon, he was able to meet Kuinnu, the reincarnation of his beloved Nefertiri. Thus, after millennia apart, they had finally found, and could love each other again.
