tooone down the white. I've been noticing it in your pictures, they tend to be alot brighter, and if only they had more blacks they would be stronger. Are you bracketing your shots? What camera are you using, anyways. Compositionally, a but right sided, goven the position of the children, and the "extra" space on the left side of the bench between the end of it and the border. The onyl balancing is done by the backgorund bush.
Give me more blacks!

actually tehy are usually much darker at first but I always feel that they are too dark so I tend ot brighten them. Maybe I am brightening them too much, and it is taking away from the contrast, will try and work on that beter. Compositionally I dont actually like this at all...there is just somethign about it, probably just sentimental reasons I liek it. Its not good techinicaly I just like the photo.

I only have a kodak easy share 4.0 mega pixel camera. Not as crsip as I would like it, but tthen I actually get to take photo 1 this semester so Im looking into getting a really good used one at teh moment, for class. Im sure a more professional camera will help, as will instruction on how to take good "technical" photos as opposed to just ones I like.

this photo definitely relies more on the "content" and sentiment of it rather than the composition, balance etc...
I would like to see some samples(maybe post as scrap?) of these photos RAW< before you mess with them in photoshop/etc.
