Description The first page of my new[larger & softer]Moleskine sketchbook..inspired by the lovely but melancholy "Gloomy Sunday"*

"Gloomy Sunday" (from Hungarian "Szomorú Vasárnap") is a song written by the Hungarian self-taught pianist and composer Rezső Seress in 1933. According to urban legend, it inspired hundreds of suicides. When the song was first marketed in America, it became known as the "Hungarian suicide song".

This piece is really amazing. I love the dragon fly and the shape of the fascinator on her head, somewhat looks like the eye sockets on a skull to me.
I am looking for an artist(s) that may be able to contribute to my sleeve tattoo, I see it as a project in where there is no set theme and I ask
competent artists like yourself on DA to contribute if the time is available. All work will be completely praised on my DA (with links to your profile)
and my numerous other profiles. I have been thinking of what i would like for a sleeve for over a yr now and I feel that if this DA contribution scheme works I will have some very
special body art.

Devastingly beautiful. Always your designs. This could be like a flower with thorns, or a dagger...I don't know, it's still gorgeous. Another thing I like is how hair is never dull, always lively and pretty.

a lovely drawing...the thorns at her neck are a great touch, and the dragonfly and the mask (you know i love masks)
...she seems to exude grief...the song is intensely sorrowful and romantic...it is sad when a loved one dies...

thankyou darling.....yes,I think we share a mask mania?..and the thorns...just seemed natural,a sort of ode to Keats and his rose-induced melancholy
It was...inspired by many things...sad anniversaries at this time of the year for me*sigh*...and its frosty outside,and the leaves are dying......but I know there are many things to be happy about..I was just..indulging in some sentimental melancholy when I drew this...I like that line from[ooh..*ponders*..I/think/its' Tennyson..or Wordsworth?].."and time remembered is grief forgotten"..it's lovely to wallow /some/times...*sentimental sighs*

....thank you darling*huggles*...I have been meaning to post..am filling sketchbooks]..but commitments[and a dodgy scanner,lol]have delayed me! Thankyou as always for your inspiring commentsI would link you to the versions of the song...but dA doesn't seem to let me link to youtube?[there is the classic Billie Holliday version..and Bjork has done a modern one]....it may amuse you to know that a friend has talked me into going into the fashion biz with him...[and this one has been earmarked for screenprinting]..so/when/[]..I finish the web designs and stuff...I'm going to show my designs here on dA too....[*watch this space*....and I'll/try/not to take forever?]

I found an instrumental version that SAYS it's by Rezső Seress, but is wickedly good anyways. Also a version that says by Sarah McLachlan but another one that said another female artist was exactly the same. Dodgy pirated music >.>
And I can't wait! But take your time~! No need to rush ^__^ I'm sure things must be kinda hectic at your end hehe
