One time I asked myself “what kind of warrior cats character would be called ‘Cloudsight’?” Well, him, apparently :3
Cloud- Fluffy white fur
Sight- Strange visions and connection to Starclan
A quiet, good hearted healer with total faith in Starclan, yet hardly any in himself. Other’s words get to him more easily then they should and he feels the constant need to prove himself.
A little bit of backstory:
Even when he was very small, Cloudkit had strange dreams that seemed to predict the future. He also showed quite an interest in healing herbs, mostly because of the smells. He started training early, in part because his mentor was so old, but it wasn’t long before he heard whispers that it was really because he was blind and needed extra help. His mentor said the rumors stemmed from jealousy, but Cloudpaw couldn’t stop them from getting to him.
He also developed a kind of gifted-kid syndrome where he wondered if his gift was the only reason he became a medicine cat. He’s more then eager to prove himself worthy as a healer, but also has no faith in himself. This has less to do with being blind and more to do with having prophetic dreams since he was a kit.
Is it ironic to give him the 'sight’ suffix despite being born blind? Yes. But his mentor wanted to prove to him that she didn’t care that he couldn’t see with his eyes. "Your name will be Cloudsight. Though your eyes are dark, your heart is clear.“
Giving Cloudsight his full Medicine Cat name was also his mentor’s dying words. She died shortly before his training was fully finished, only adding to the idea that Cloudsight wasn’t ready. He also insisted on being called Cloudpaw until the half-moon meeting, where his mentor officially presented him to Starclan.
Had this little guy in my brain for a year and a half or smth. About darn time I got him on paper (A sad fate for many of my ideas)
(Can be drawn with or without pupils, depending on stylistic choice. Colours can be either in block or gradient form, but block is easier to put on the ref. Was originally called Cloudgaze but ’-sight’ sounded better)
