What I did was I bought thermoplastic beads (which heat up in water and become moldable) and shaped the bow in 4 pieces hollow, then joined them so they were two large pieces missing the handle. I strung leds through them after that were powered by batteries in the handle that could be taken out (I made a little hole that was covered up by the black pieces of fabric. 
Also LOTS OF HOT GLUE! Haha!

I see! I am also planning to make Ashe's bow, but in a totally different manner... Weren't the beads really expensive? I mean, it seems like a big quantity.... I am planning to make a really smooth master, make a mold after it and then cast the bow in transparent resin, coloured a bit with translucent resin colour. I'll also make it in two parts, so I'll be able to put the LEDs inside... I just hope things will turn out as I want. Your way is very nice and I wouldn't have thought about it... plus I can't find those thermoplastic beads in my country... Thanks for your answer!

Well, I ended up casting a lot of stuff for my cosplay costumes and I find it a very safe method, just a bit expensive (the silicone and the resin are not THAT cheap) and time consuming. But I can replicate whatever I make as many times as I want. I am still worried a bit with the whole LED thing, I really wanna make it look like the original bow....

I have Serah, and Rikku (Al said he wants to shoot our YRP group some time along with Jason and Ashley if they still want to) and then I was thinking of doing something fun with Alice for Halloween maybe? Just like one or two shots but I thought it might be fun!
