New Mega Man OC! (From reading my latest posts) Here she is! You guys may notice that for someone who is so much more into Zero/ZX, I haven't created an OC for the Zero era (not counting Rep Z Angie cuz she's more of a sona), I did one for ZX and two for X (as well as one X DiVE one, or that one can be counted as the third X OC), but maybe it's because I personally don't see much Mega Man Zero OCs, mostly the X and ZX ones I saw. Still, I felt like creating a Zero OC with this one name in mind: Elena. This girl's name is Elena. Aside from existing in the Zero era, she is a Reploid, the Zero era Reploid. You can tell by that one ear plate on her left. (The Zero era Reploids don't have that red triangle on their forehead until ZX) I thought of her last night and I created a preview of her design using Gacha Life 2 and her role, she is a field medic in the Resistance, but she wasn't a member from the start. She was rescued by Zero during a mission.

Plus, to me, "Elena" seems like a fitting name for a female Mega Man character, even in the 'Zero' series, same thing with when I was creating my Mega Man X OC Ingrid, I thought of how "Ingrid" sounds like a fitting name for a Mega Man X girl.~

I kinda struggled with what role she should have when I was coming up with her info, but here she is, kinda came up a bit quick than I expected. At least I managed to get the bio done on a Google Doc before finishing her up.^^ Hope to hear what you guys think of her~ (I don't really see much MMZ OCs as said, so I hope she doesn't seem like a bad MMZ OC)

Originally a Reploid civilian in Neo Arcadia, Elena was a victim of persecution along with the majority of the Reploid population due to Neo Arcadia’s corrupt government. She was gifted with excellent medical skills which she thought she could use to help others, since that is what she was mainly created for, but that intent of hers was condemned and devoid of any visible potential in the eyes of humans she mostly met as a result of them believing that her real intent was to bring harm to humanity all because she was a Reploid. With each and every persecution she faced, Elena’s spirit drained rather almost entirely, but still held the belief of her gift of helping others with her “light” has specialty underneath, however her rough experiences of being persecuted reduced her to a cold, firm, emotional, and resilient character, which can make things difficult for her.

At one point, Elena was captured yet again and held captive by a Maverick. She was found severely injured and rescued by a red Reploid, identified as Zero, who brought her to the Resistance base where she was given treatment. Already knowing about the Resistance before, Elena felt welcomed and took the role as a field medic, finally proving her medical skills invaluable and realizing its full potential. However, that doesn’t mean she is over her trauma completely. As time went on with the Resistance, Elena began to grow a true fighting spirit, wanting to fight alongside Zero by force as her new intent despite her fondness of treating others as a field medic the more her PTSD experiences got to her.

Elena is shown to be a feisty, firm, and resilient Reploid girl. Her previous experiences of facing persecution has left her with mental scars that make her seem like a cold, high-strung, and emotional being, so much so that she doesn’t take kindly to those that look down on her abilities and gets easily agitated when detecting a threat towards her or her allies. But underneath all that tough, bold, brazen exterior, she greatly cared about the well-being of others as part of her gift and field medic occupation, especially from eyeing Zero more and more after being saved by him. Upon joining the Resistance and becoming a field medic, she would tell herself “no more tears” as something to remind herself to keep her guard up and grow from her past trauma. However, because of her past trauma still having the audacity to eat her up inside, seeing Reploids and herself getting persecuted left and right, that was when her sense of fighting by force began to surface, showing that Elena cannot bear to stand around, do little combat, and see other Reploids suffer, even Zero who is the Resistance’s last hope. More so that she has that want of fighting alongside Zero or being his backup in any way, even if it can get her injured, as long as she is providing more help than ever and keeping everyone safe with her own life.

Trivia:
-The name “Elena” is of Greek origin meaning “shining light” and “bright one,” depicting her intent of helping others and being their “shining light” but is shadowed by the Neo Arcadian government towards the Reploid population.
-As her occupation is a field medic in the Resistance, Elena has a similar role as Rebecca Chambers from ‘Resident Evil,’ who is also a field medic, while her personality is fairly similar to Helena Harper from Resident Evil 6 and Ellie from ‘The Last of Us.’
-With Ellie, both of their names are similar, and “Ellie” is one of the nicknames of “Elena.”

-Her appearance is somewhat similar to Ingrid, one of my (currently two) Mega Man X OCs such as the hairstyle.
-Elena encounters Zero and the Resistance sometime between Mega Man Zero 2 and 3.
-Elena somewhat acts as a parallel to Angie (Zero era Reploid version), both suffering through horrific circumstances (for Rep Z Angie, it’s the Elf Wars 100 years prior and Elena facing extreme persecution) that enabled them to fight harder than ever, having similar name meanings that depict their primary intent, and showing great care towards Zero.
