Description Mycroft Holmes appreciation post.

Mycroft knew that Mother would never allow a cat into the house.
So, every day, he would take Sherlock back there to visit it
for a while.
He understood why Sherlock empathised with the stray...

And thus, Mycroft was finally able to introduce
Sherlock to the notion of companionship.

For Mark Gatiss and Mycroft - hopefully, he is as good a brother as my headcanon leads me to believe...

Daww, I agree, I think Sherlock was made of and isolated by the other kids when he was child because he was strange and didn't have proper social skills (I think he has Asperger's.) I don't really think he's sociopath he's just built up a defense because he was made of his whole life. He obviously loves and cares deeply for Watson (I think of them very dear friends) so he has the ability to love and care for others, even if he doesn't really understand or connect with them.

Yeah. And, in my headcanon, their Mother would encourage that if Sherlock worked more efficiently that way (like how Mothers tell you to ditch your social life because you study btter...)
