Shiny Regional Rolycoly, Carkol, and Coalossal
Origins:
Regional Rolycoly is based on uranium ore and uraninite.
Regional Carkol is based on nuclear flasks and minecarts.
Regional Coalossal is based on nuclear cooling towers and nuclear reactors.
Collectively, each stage of the line represents the process of uranium ore being refined into fuel for reactors, with Rolycoly representing the unprocessed ore, Carkol representing the transportation of unrefined fuel to be processed/processed fuel being transported to a reactor facility, and Coalossal representing the reactor where the fuel is used.
The green colour is inspired by the popular fictitious representation of radiation being green, as well as the green glow of uranium glassware.
The blue colour of the shiny forms is inspired by the colour of light emitted by Cherenkov radiation.
Trivia:
The artwork's title is a reference to lyrics from the Imagine Dragons song "Radioactive."
