So: I'm confused what is the more modern usage of this word mean...I mean what makes this graffiti and not just say spontaneous 3D art...
Note, I'm not being sarcastic, I'm truly curious...

The old meaning was to etch or scribe a surface. This whole "...sprayed illicitly on a wall...." is a modern version of the definition. When the word graffitos came into use, it wasn't illegal.

I saw this comment were unanswered, and I think it's a interesting point! I do fully consider this as graffiti.. I think the word has turned more into a genre of art than to describe vandalism with letters! I think graffiti is when you play with letters.. You take the essence of a letter and twist it and deform it to make them ornamental. But ofcourse graffiti doesent need to have letters, you may have characters in graffiti and you may have objects that reminds of graffiti letters! What make's this non sci-fi is that it is unorganized and have bright colours, when you'r doing sci-fi you have to think that it should fit in some sci-fi universe..
This could be called cubism though, cubism is almost forgotten but the newest graffiti reminds of this art style, its like a reinvention of cubism! Graffiti is also quite close to abstract and psychedelic art.. If you look at anhpham88's previous uploads you will see the progress from more graffiti like sculptures to this!

Yeah, you should. To define the genre of a art work is quite interesting. and to study the different ism:s !
Some of the most interesting and inovative art is those that are on the border between different genres , and make it with a rare techenique!

Looks a plastic toy... was that intended? Kudos to anyone that can actually find the word "Alien" in this (besides the small green letters at the bottom)... because I am COMPLETELY lost. I'm pretty curious though, so if someone could give me some help... I'd be most appreciative.
