Description
Things had not gotten better since the tripod was sold. Even though the transaction was private, Alexondrus and Ophelia constantly saw the malevolent glare of fellow villagers. They observed apparent contempt in the people they once viewed as neighbors and friends. Some would even follow them into the night. The heat.
The drought.
This flimsy couple better off than most.
It was inevitable that tensions escalated into a violent confrontation.
Completely caught off guard, the couple barely managed to escape with their lives from a group of robbers. At least, that's what he said to her. He knows full well they had worse intentions and that they were no longer safe in the village. For her and their impending family, Alexondrus had to do the one thing he was terrified of.
Leave.

The end is near.
