Description
Apache had settled in the group of stallions, though he and Bundy would often get into spats. The bay couldn’t figure out how a hot head like Bundy had so little of a backbone when it came to Komaroff. Sure, the roan had a peculiar air about him, but other than there was nothing scary about him. Though he had shown himself to be formidable when they had come across a wolf, one with foaming lips and a temper problem. The rest of the stallions hadn’t had to lift a finger when Komaroff stepped forward and after a few moments of combat with the rabid creature had it pinned and waiting for the buzzards to come and clean. Maybe, just maybe there was a point to being cautious around Komaroff.
The band had settled in a gathering of trees, not large enough to be called a forest, and though it was icy cold the weight of the air was crushing. The cold sunk through into their bones. The four stallions, though only two of them were close huddled together as they searched for shelter, when they saw a very large figure just out in the distance. The figure was a giant, especially when compared to the young stallion at his side. Apache was surprised that Komaroff hadn’t raised any alarm, as sharp as the old man’s eyes were and beside him, he felt Gacy tense. The bay cast a glance at his young friend, curious as to what had unsettled him.
Gacy looked as though he’d seen a ghost, and he felt like it too. The spotted stallion standing next to the giant looked so similar to another stallion from his past. He didn’t know how Jekyll had found him, or why he’d left the protection of Puriel’s herd, but this was the last place he wanted to be seen. Cowering like a colt, under the thumb of a stallion who controlled his actions in a way he didn’t understand. As the pair got closer to the band, they sported large smiles, even though the larger one had a bit of a sniffle, surely caused by the weather. A wave of confusion washed over the grullo as he saw no disdain in the eyes of the spotted stallion, though that confusion was put to rest as he introduced himself as Milo, and the giant as Rubeus. They were also looking for somewhere warmer, though it was a slow trip as Rubeus was a bit woozy from a sedative the humans had given him when checking on his minor wound. Wolf accepted the two newcomers as they turned in way neither had come from. They would find a place to wait out this horrid weather together. Komaroff had extended an invitation to join their merry band and after sharing a look, Milo and Rubeus accepted the invitation.
