The Blue Fairy from Disney's Pinocchio.I had a hard time trying to figure out the period of the movie, there aren't that many hints. I searched for the original book and that one was published in 1883, so this dress is from around that year.
It looks a lot like my historic Cinderella piece and if this was any other character, I would have gone with a different color. But she's called the Blue Fairy and putting her in a red dress would just be stupid
I left some space to add wings, but in the end decided not to make them. But to keep something of her in it I made a starry background and tried to give her a gleam. This would be easy with Photoshop, but since I don't have that and Twistedbrush doesn't have a function like that, I had to improvise.

Gorgeous! She surely looks like a fairy, with her arms extended like that. Her features here are gorgeous, especially the eyes and the plump lips.
The blues used are very beautiful, and nice using of the stomacher and I just love overskirts that are held with bows!

well she was a fairy/angel so technically anything could have been correct on her, but i do like this. i have to admit, you are right about it looking like Cinderella but oh well, it's very good

Have you ever read the original Pinocchio? It's quite a bit different and was apparently politically motivated. The Disney version is so tame xD

Thanks! And no, I haven't. I did have a non-disney Pinnochio book when I was a kid, but I don't really remember the story and how it differed from the Disney version. What are the biggest differences of the original compared to the Disney one?

Ha, well, the biggest difference is that Pinocchio is actually an obnoxious a-hole, not so much just gullible. For example, he murders the Talking Cricket (Jiminy Cricket in the movie) with a hammer. Geppetto is actually a grouchy old man, and the Blue Fairy regularly fluctuates in appearance from a child to an adult.

Oh Pinocchio looks so cute!! Unfortunately Geopetto looks a bit... scary to me o_O

It will probably be a pretty creepy movie, since it's by the same director who did Pan's Labyrinth.
As to how Pinocchio gets to be a real boy... I guess he kind of redeems himself? Kind of? Ha. I think the blue fairy's reasoning was that because he went out to save his father he must be aight.
I'm waiting til Korra's finished to watch it all together. I'm really scared of getting obsessed with something before grad school is over >.<
