"Here's your new baby brother, Mufasa. His name is Taka. You always have to take good care of him, my son!""I promise, father! I'll take care of him for as long as I shall live!"
This is for the current contest at TLKFAA. It shows the relationship between Ahadi and his two sons. This burden will cost Mufasa his life!
I was always wondering why Mufasa didn't chase his brother away since he was so mean and a threat for him. This might be a possible explanation.
I also asked myself why everyone depicts Mufasa and Scar as twins. Mufasa could've also be born some time before Taka. So, something different here!

His birthname is Taka but after an accident he got his scar, and chose to name himself Scar

can i ask what program and/or tablet you used to draw this with? i want to get one for myself but there are so many of them out there, i dont know which one to get

I'm using Photoshop (C3) and a Hyperpen tablet (which is quite nice but took me ages to get it work right).

I think it's very possible that Mufasa felt sorry for Taka, since he was more or less given the throne from birth. He pitied his younger, scorned brother and vowed to keep him safe and not drive him out, no matter what sort of mischief he caused. This ultimately gave Taka his scheme to pretend to be loyal until the opportune moment, but at least Mufasa cared about his brother enough to keep him home. Although, there's also the distinct possibility that after a while Mufasa was following the old phrase, "Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer." I don't think he ever hated his brother, but he knew that if he WAS plotting something, it would be much easier to stop him if he was closeby.

I agree with you. Mufasa's eyes when Scar leaves after their argument, almost by the begining of TLK show sadness, I'd daresay they show pity...which would be another reason to hate him for Scar
