Valerya was born in O-jhenbel but moved with her family to Traseq when she was 11 years old.

She traveled with her father up until his death. She loves to travel and does so on her own and see more of the world while helping others along the way with anything they might need. She dreams of one day running a safe inn to care for weary travelers, where she would prepare food, medicines, and other supplies for them - all after she's had her fun exploring, of course.

Valerya returned to Traseq from traveling just as mobs began forming against the Lord of the city, Shasesq, for letting the incarnation of the Nameless God go free. Confused and scared, Valerya opted to ask Shasesq for his side of the story, and her opinions very quickly changed as he explained the supposed incarnation was simply a child, and that he had been told there was no threat. Worried that he wasn't going to do anything about the mobs, Valerya kindly gave him some bread in case things turned for the worse, letting him know she was there to help. Unfortunately, Daruk returned as the Lord of Traseq and declared any supporters of Shasesq a traitor. Valerya ran out of the city and helped a few others fleesing fyasel across the river before diving in and making her way to Shinek, where her brother lived.

Valerya reached Shinek before long, but sadly too late. When she entered her brother's house she found him dead on the floor, leaving her alone to figure out who murdered him and where to go next.
