huh. i was kinda imagining (and waaaay overthinking it):
danny gets kidnapped somehow and only he can save himself, which is why team phantom sends Dani, but she gets beaten and Clockwork decides to take their last resort. DAN. together, they go to defeat this new evil, having to get along first, which is kinda difficult, considering dan kinda acts like vlad... only worse.
in middle of a fight, Dani is getting exhausted and she sees an attack going striaght at Dan, him having not realized it. she knows he's their best chance at getting Danny back, so she takes the hit for him so at least one of them can keep fighting. this is a moving moment between them. Dan blasts the enemies away with a ghostly wail and retreats to treat her wounds and continue fighting together. sibling bonding ensues.
