Happy Halloween, everyone! You know what that means? It's time for my OCs to dress up for the spooky occasion once again! Out of all the Halloween artworks I've made starring my OCs so far, this is probably the one I'm the proudest of, mainly because the costumes I chose for this year are ones I was passionate on drawing.

This year's costumes include:
*Charlotte is dressed as Shirley Temple, specifically as her character, Shirley Dugan, from the 1934 film, Stand Up and Cheer!. I made this her costume because, out of all the things that inspired Charlotte, Shirley Temple is without a doubt my biggest inspiration. Some of the things taken from Shirley that I implemented into Charlotte are her outwardly cute appearance, her knack for wearing fluffy/frilly dresses, and the fact that they are child prodigies, being crazy talented at such a young age, whether its singing or tap dancing. The reason I chose this dress is because, when it comes to Shirley Temple, the one outfit that people first associate with her is her red polka-dot dress.
*Annie is dressed as a Nandroid from the webcomic, Emmy the Robot. I made this her costume, aside from the comic being one of my biggest hyper-fixations in recent years, is because Annie has two of the biggest characteristics of a Nandroid: the white skin and the blush. Looking at Annie, I find it pretty fascinating to see her outfit on someone as small and not-so-lanky, since the ones who usually wear this outfit are tall and skinny. I also decided to have her use the push broom she used last Halloween, where, instead of pretending it's something she flies with, she uses it for its actual purpose of cleaning.
*Janet is dressed as Sapphire from Osamu Tezuka's famous manga, Princess Knight. I made this her costume because I wanted her to wear something that makes her look like a bada**. It took me a while to find a costume that appears feminine, but still embraces her tomboyish personality. I ultimately went with this Tezuka heroine because of how brave they can be, and like I mentioned a moment ago, the fact that this character is secretly a girl pretending to be a boy fits perfect with Janet's tomboy attitude.

I don't have much to say about the making of this artwork, but I will talk about how finally getting to work on it took a little longer than I thought. Apart from trying to settle on the costumes I want my OCs to wear, I also had a few artworks in progress that I needed to complete, and they just so happen to be released very close to Halloween. First, there was my Disney 100th anniversary artwork, which took me several days to complete due to the high abundance of items I needed to draw. Second, there was my Splatoween artwork, which I tend to start working on the moment Splatfest results are announced. Lastly, there was a birthday drawing I made for one of my favorite Twitter followers, who is a cosplayer. It was after the completion of the birthday drawing that I finally got to work on my Halloween artwork. I had only drawn Charlotte at this time because I was still trying to settle on a pose for her. Once I started working on my artwork, I quickly drew the other two girls in a hassle-free manner, and successfully managed to complete it by today.
