130 years ago, a company by the name of Nintendo was founded. At first glance, you might be wondering "How did a video game company exist back then?" Well, the thing was, they didn't just sit around and do nothing for a century before shifting to video games. When they started back in 1889, they actually made something called hanafuda cards. The objective of the game is to collect as many cards that are related to each other (most specifically, which month they represent). Around the 1960s, Nintendo decided to try out other ventures like love hotels or vacuum cleaners. It wasn't until the early 1980s that they officially decided to permanently become a video game company, with their smash hit 1985 game Super Mario Bros. being the origin of their well-known mascot, Mario.

This was a hastily made drawing, because I was super busy today with having do errands and school work. However, that didn't stop me from trying to celebrate this anniversary. Fun fact, the card being shown is supposed to be for the August group called "Full Moon with Red Sky". I would've gone for a September card, but I was in a time crunch, and I didn't want to spend too much time with all of the details.
