There are eleven kinds of pain.

Here's another artwork based on a trend making the rounds on Twitter. This time, we're tasked with making fake parodies for the Cartoon Network show, MAD. The trend started when an artist named TheRealNeoThe made a fake screenshot for a skit called "Hotel Hell", which is a crossover between Hazbin Hotel and Hell's Kitchen. This prompted another user to state that it would be a fun idea if more people made more fake parodies, and as someone who loves the show and loves what they have seen people make so far, I decided to jump in on the trend with my own fake skit.

As someone with lots of experience in the show, one thing I know for a fact is that the skits are usually a combination of two pieces of media that share a common word. For example, the first episode has a skit that combines the shows CSI and iCarly, and it resulted in "CSiCarly". When thinking of my own skit, I tried to think of two shows that share a certain word, and I immediately thought up of The Loud House and House of Cards. Personally, I have never watched a single episode of the latter show, but since I do know that it's a political thriller, and the goal of MAD is to make anything they parody as crazy as possible, I thought this mashup was perfect, since it would give the idea of the skit being about the kids causing their usual chaos in order to make what might be a boring show more exciting.

When it comes to making this artwork, this is probably the most fun I've had when making one because, as you can see, all of the Louds were drawn to be as off-model as possible, but still retain their appearances so that it's easy to tell who is who. I had to look through several episodes in order to settle on an art style that is not only easy to replicate but can also be done in a hassle-free manner. I decided to base the style on one of the show's shorter skits called "Nettricks". On top of getting to draw each character in a different way than usual, I also got to play around with the colors, since another element of the show is that everyone doesn't use the exact color template of the character they're parodying. As for the star of House of Cards himself, Kevin Spacey, I modeled him just like how celebrities are animated in the show: use a cutout of his head and slap it to a cartoon body, while also giving him a cartoon mouth and eyes to make it more expressive. Also, it can't be a MAD parody unless you find a way to sneak in Alfred E. Neuman's face, and in this case, I put it on Lynn's jersey. I also put in the Cartoon Network watermark on the bottom right corner just to emphasize on the illusion that this was an actual screenshot from Cartoon Network.

One last thing I feel like mentioning is that I drew a logo that was meant to be a part of the artwork. However, by the time I sketched everything out, I didn't have any more room to put it in. You might be thinking, "Why not just resize the artwork so that you could put it in?" Well, the reason why I didn't do that is because I wanted to preserve the aspect ratio of the artwork. In you look at the bottom of the description, the size of the artwork is 1920 x 1080, which is the aspect ratio for Full High Resolution (FHD). Luckily, rather than scrap the logo, I decided to post it on Twitter as an add-on. You can check it out here.
