Hey sorry, I don't check my deviant art often 😅 I'm sure it didn't weight more than a couple grams. The poor guy got stuck in my skylight and then he got tired, I picked him up, snapped a quick picture and then let him go.

I hope the little guy is okay, it's been a long time but we still get humming birds visiting us so I like to think he told his friends that we're a cool place to hang lol

Not currently, I used to, but my dog broke them recently. They still visit the backyard though, we've got lots of flowers for them to choose from.

Reminds me of a time when I found one banging on a glass trying to get out (in a matter of seconds) and it collapsed on the floor, scared and tired….I gently took it outside and held it for a moment……petting it…trying to calm it down for a couple of minutes…it was so scared, poor thing….first time that I ever touched a hummingbird… :0
After 20 minutes I let it fly free when I thought it had recovered from the incident and felt it was ready to fly again…
It was amazing though…under normal conditions no human could ever touch them. It felt like a rare privilege to me… helping that little guy.

Awe, I hope the little guy was all right! And I agree, it was very cool to hold him, but like you said under normal circumstances it would be very hard to get close let alone touch one! And it was amazing. Once it was in my hand he didn't try to get away or move, he just sat quietly and let me take his picture before letting him go haha

It's one of the oddest things, they seem a lot bigger flying around than they do in your hand c: Their body's are very tiny and brittle and it looks like they only have a few flight feathers on each wing and it was just really intriguing for me to see such a tiny thing be apart of life.

Well humming birds are just that part of nature that not a lot of people get to experience up close and personal, so don't feel bad.
