Who knew a lady killer like Bucky would end up with someone of a chubby stature. Well no one really, not even Bucky himself.

He didn’t realize how much he loved those extra plushy curves until he met you.

You may be insecure about you weight and how much your stomach seems to stick out of all sides, but that’s one of the facts that Bucky loves. He loves how you fill his grip, yet there’s more of you to fill the hold. He knows when you’re secure in his arms.

He doesn’t have to worry about breaking easily when he goes ‘Winter’, he may leave heavy bruising, he knows they don’t hurt badly but he still hates it, but you reassure him by saying 'that it’s just a bruise, it’ll heal before you can say 'pumper-nickle.“

You were always there for him, even in the 'Civil War’ you stuck by him because you knew he was innocent of his actions and that he deserved better care than what he was receiving.

You treated him as a person when he decided to stay with you guys.

You were the one that persuaded Tony to let him stay in the tower with you. You let yourself to be the blame for any wrong actions that he performed in his stay.

The first time when Steve was gone on a mission since Bucky’s homecoming, Bucky had a nightmare and went 'Winter Soldier’ you were the one that acted, calmed him down and stayed with him. That night you got plenty of serious bruising and said,
"It’s what friends do. We help each other out through thick and thin, no matter what causes there are in the end.” With a bright smile as blood dripped out of your mouth. That image haunts him, yet it highlights a very special moment between you and Bucky.

Months went by before he realized that Bucky was falling for you, quick and heavily that is.

It took a while for him to ask you out on a date, but he did, and that’s where you two are now.

You walked side by side nervously through the streets to your location. But the start of the date wasn’t doing to well according to Bucky as he easily heard whispers of passersby. They weren’t about him, in a negative way, he got the positive comments but you… you didn’t. It was snide remarks and people, mostly women, saying that they were better off with him rather than you just because of you weight.

Bucky did try to stop himself from yelling or punching people because they were insulting you just because of appearance rather than your personality. But Bucky realized he was one of those people that just went out with women because of their looks and sex appeal not their personality.

He’s glad he’s changed… maybe the whole 'Winter Soldier’ thing was for the better of him as a person in the long run, as much as he hates to admit it.

“Hey Buck is this the place?” You quietly asked pointing towards the cafe Bucky chose to take you.
“Oh uh yeah…” He nodded and walked you inside. When you sat all was quiet between the two of you for about five minutes before you broke it.
“Is..is everything alright Buck? You’re all spaced out…” You asked worriedly. “L-look I understand that you may not want to be out and about amongst the public.” Bucky looked up eyes widened shocked.
“It’s not that… it’s…ummm..” Bucky’s eyes adverted to a group of women glancing at the both of you and having little giggles.
“Hey if you want to go talk to them, I’m behind you.”
“But this is our date.”
“Look if there are others you wants to talk to, go out with, that’s fine.” You placed your head in you hand with a kind, offering smile. “Besides it’s better for your own well being as well to go talk to strangers. I’m not stopping you.”

The odd thing to Bucky was that you seemed used to this sort of thing. It was the norm.

“No it’s not that… it’s….”
“Oh..that… It’s fine, don’t worry about it.”
'It shouldn’t be fine, and I should worry about it,’
“Besides, it’s nothing new and you should have the freedom to do what you wa-”
“No.” Bucky cut you off slightly agitated by the fact that you’re carelessly saying this and that it’s normal for you to say it. “This is us and us only. You shouldn’t be saying this so happily. Why are you saying these things anyway?” You sat their slightly shocked at his outburst as well as the rest of the cafe, but soon your expression turned into a soft, slightly hurt look.
“Well what else to expect someone like me to say, especially someone like you.”
“Someone…like me?” Bucky’s eyebrows knitted, confused.
“A well built looking guy, with a great sense of humour, a great laugh, a natural gentleman- look I could go on and on.”
“Then what about you?…”
“Me…” Bucky nodded, you looked down at yourself unconsciously covering your stomach and looked back up at Bucky. “Well if you want me to tell the truth all you have to do is look at me, I’m fat… unhealthy, unappealing…”

“Is that it?” Bucky sternly asked.
“What?”
“That’s all you’re worried about. Your weight and how others see you.” You quickly looked around avoiding Bucky’s glance.
“W-well if-if you put it that way…”
“(Y/N) look at me.” Your eyes met Bucky’s and all you saw was a serious look, one the matched the look he had when he was the Winter Soldier. “(Y/N) you’re wonderful and absolutely beautiful. I wish you could see that yourself.” Bucky placed his fleshed hand on your and his metal under your chin lifting it up. “Your personality is the factor that stands out more than anything, which your beauty matches. You shouldn’t worry what others are thinking because they’re too busy worrying about themselves. You need to start taking your own advice.” Bucky humbly chuckled giving you a soothing kiss.

“Ugh I can’t believe he’d kiss someone like them.” One of the girls from the other table complained.
“Sorry ladies you don’t reach my standards.” Bucky stated while giving you another kiss.
“Well your standards must be really low.” You joked only for Bucky to intently look at you. “It’s called sarcasm sweetheart.”

“ABOUT BLOODY TIME!” Tony declared from the other side of the cafe.
“Tony sit down.” Steve grumbled as he pulled Tony back down in his seat, shoving his red face in the menu.
“Whatever sweetcheeks.” Tony winked.
