Description Part II of the Asylum series - The Hall. I went with a friend to an abandoned Insane Asylum in Albuquerque. It is said that this place is very haunted. A patient went crazy and murdered several patients, doctors, and nurses. I took a risk by coming to this place. Not because of its evil spirits, but because of the owners of the property. They are a chapter of the Banditos motorcycle gang and they carry guns and they don't hesitate to let out their rottweilers to attack trespassers. I heard them barking, but from their house. As we were leaving we heard someone moving around on the inside of the asylum, but we saw nobody. We called out, but there was no answer. A Bandito??? or a ghost? Who knows!?

Any questions?

I'm just curious, as a resident of Burque and someone who is in tune with supernatural things...

I've lived here almost my entire life and to my knowledge, there's not a single asylum here. They may have torn it down, but the only asylum in the state that I know of is in Las Vegas. Where did you say this was again? Not just "Albuquerque", but specifically where?

Sorry for the late reply. I'm never on here. It was an asylum far back before you or I were born. It was a privately run institution called "Sandia Ranch Sanatorium" that served as a sanatorium for the mentally insane and as the story has it, the resident doctor would conduct inhumane experiments on the patients and he would perform satanic rituals on those patients. Many died under his hand and it led to the mental asylum to be shut down. The institution was later reopened under the same name, but as an asylum for people with tuberculosis. After the tuberculosis sickness faded, the place was converted into a nursing home. As for how long that existed, I have no idea, but I know people whose grandparents were there and they can attest to strange occurrences happening. It is located on the corner of Edith and Osuna. I was born and raised here and I know of almost every single haunted location in the state. I like to seek out supernatural things all over the world. I hope I answered your question.

I had no idea... I know of some of the haunts in town, but didn't know that one. If you want to see things during the daylight, you might want to check out the Fairview Cemetery on Yale. The keepers there have had complaints from several families because of their nasty habit of burying the dead on top of the dead. The north side of the grounds tends to sink in when you step down. It's very sad about the asylum, though. Thank you for getting back to me.

No worries! Also, what is now the Hotel Parq Central used to be a children's asylum and hospital. Located straight off of I-25 at the Central exit.

That I'm aware of. I had several friends be committed there when we were teenagers. It seems that suicidal thoughts are always around us.

Wow, great shot.
I'm very superstitious, so I wouldn't set foot in a place like that, much less take pictures of it. I'd be shaking too much to hold the camera!
