Description my first ever points commission!!! this was the first time EVER that i've been paid to draw somehting~
it's yoru from shugo chara~
i'm really proud of this; i think it turned out really well~ but the shading looks a bit wonky...

Hey there! I'm going to critique this, so ... yeah. I'll try not to be too harsh!

Crit I do like how you give the guy a cat nose; many other "neko" kids have human noses. The anatomy of the nose, though, I think is too simplistic. Look at this [link] and how the cat's nose is more of a "T" shape than a triangle.

The shape of the face seems a little off. I think it's too wide. Next time you draw a human, the human's face narrows down to a point in the chin. Even if they are looking directly at you. [link]

Now, let's look back at this: [link] . Look at the eyes. A little tip is to (roughly) measure the width of one of the eyes. The space between the two eyes is equal to one eye, if that makes sense. And in a front view, the space between the eye and the corresponding ear is equal to the width of an eye, if that makes sense? So, in all, a front view face is roughly five "eyes" wide. If that makes sense?

His right (or left side) wrist bends a little too sharply at the joint. You probably wouldn't see too much of that paw glove because it will be angled away from us, and kinda 'behind' itself, if that makes sense?

The irises seem a little off to me, sorry! I think if you rounded out the colored part and the pupils, it would look a little "cuter". I looked up who this character is, and they are a little chibi thingy! So being cute might help them out and stuff.

I'm not sure, but the bottom of the page looks a little cut off, maybe?


Anyhoo, it's a really cute picture! I love his expression, and pose! You drew him so adorably!!!!

ok, got it! i wanna draw more of yoru and other feline/humans so that'll help, thanks!

since i was drawing chibi, i kinda ignored the facial shape thing... and i know about the eye thing but i always forget *shot* so thanks

i had no idea how to draw that, so i just winged it i know it looks off; next time i'll look for a ref

yeah, the eyes are weird

my scanner does this weird thing that where you cut it off at the bottom, it adds a few pixels-high row of blank space... but i didn't draw his feet, if that's what yyou were referring to cos i couldn't figure out how, i just drew the tops and left it at that

Don't worry too much though! Just remember for the next time you do a chibi, try to make them "rounder" to make them look cuter and cuddlier!

thanks! i'm working on a panda as a gift right now; if i can finish coloring it before my mom leaves, i can scan it before she gets back (that made no sense )
