Seeing as I'm one of many people who hates Ash's stupid goofy new design for the new pokemon sun and moon anime.I decided have a go and make my own version for a outfit for his time in Alola.
First off I drew him in his old school original design well as best I could anyway. Mainly the plane black and white pupils.
My main priority was the change the T-shirt the main think I don't like about his Alola outfit is that tacky striped t-shirt. So for this version I made his shirt more funky and cool with just one strip in the middle lopsided.
I also added more blue here and there as blue has been in almost all his outfits.
And I added the traditional fingerless gloves too.
I kept the long shorts as it's very hot and sunny in the Alola region as it's based off Hawaii, so makes sense for this get up to be summery.
This is also my idea for what Ash could wear in a spin off story after the events of my OCs crossover with Pokemon co-created by me and
Were Ash accompanied by Molly Hale after reuniting with Serena in Kalos, and traveling in Kalos for a while. they then go to Alola.

Today we find Ash, Serena, Molly, Lillie, and their Pokémon friends waiting at a pier for a boat that was bringing their friends Mallow, Lana and her sisters to Ula'ula Island.
After a while, their boat arrived and Mallow, Lana, Harper and Sarah got off.
Lillie: Mallow, Lana! It's so good to see you again.

Lana: Good to see you again too Lillie.

Mallow: How are things going with you guys?
Molly: You wouldn't believe some of the stuff we've been through.

Lillie: Ash and Serena have gotten very far in the trials so far.

Molly: Plus we had a little shrunken adventure at Aether Paradise. (giggles)

Mallow:Shrunken adventure?

Ash: It's a long story. We'll tell you on the way.
With that, Ash brought out Charizard so he, Serena, and Molly could ride on him, while Serena brought out Altaria, Mallow brought out Flygon, and Lana brought out Dragonair. As they flew to Po Town, where the Alola fairy colony was said to be, Ash explained their adventure at Aether Paradise, in which he, Serena, and Molly ended up getting shrunk, and Serena briefly grew into a giant.

Lana: (smiles) Right, girls.

As they flew, they had no way of knowing that Acerola and Mimikins were close by and wonder what they were up to.

Acerola noticed her friends flying over head on their various pokemon and couldn't help be get curious

So she decided to bring out her Totem-sized Gengar.
Acerola: C'mon Gengar. Let's go see where our friends are going.
Gengar allowed Acerola and Mimikins to get on his back and they followed after them.

Ash and his friends didn't notice Acerola or her pokemon as they flew on

Soon they arrived in Po Town, and recalled the Pokémon they flew on.
Serena: So, Lillie, since you and the others know the way to the fairy colony, why don't you lead the way?
Ash: Yeah, I think that's fair.
Molly: Me too.

With that, Ash, Serena, Molly, Harper and Sarah followed after Lillie, Lana, and Mallow.

When the came to a large rock wall
Lillie: The doorway to the fairy city is through here, this is a invisible wall the fairies created

Ash: Yep. Sounds like something the fairies would do.

Ash: The Galar, Kalos and Johto fairies do a similar trick

Molly: Wait. Before we go in, we should take a page from the fairies' book. (steps out of her sandals)

Lillie: Yes your right Molly.
Mallow: Yep besides my feet are kinda tried from the walk and getting too warm in my shoes anyway.

Serena: Agreed. Let's do as Molly suggests.
With that, the girls stepped out of their shoes and placed them in their bags for safekeeping.

Then proceeded to walk through the invisible wall

Acerola saw this from afar and wonder why the girls took off their sandals.

Acerola: Hmm why did everyone apart from Ash take off their shoes?

Acerola: And what kind of rock is that? C'mon, Mimikins. Let's find out.
Meanwhile, Ash and all the girls had arrived in the fairy colony.

To them like every other colony, the city was like a model village to humans
Lillie: Hello there.

The fairies who saw Lillie, Lana, and Mallow greeted them warmly.

Ash guessed these were fairies they'd know when they first met the colony

Molly: Gosh. They look like they're really dressed for Alola's climate.
Serena: I'll say.

These fairies really were dressed more lightly then other fairies they'd seen.
