These tall Astophylids have become the dominant plant in deeper waters, creating massive underwater forests. The largest members of this clade rise above most other species of Columnaphylids in these massive forests. The largest of these forests is off the south eastern coast of the supercontinent, creating the Great Trench Forest, the name comes from the fact the forest has grown to a trench that is off of the coast.
