Now I remember why I loved Tails growing up. I think the fact that he's mechanically inclined and loves flight is what made me initially be interested in aviation (among other things, such as SWAT KATS) and flying characters.

It's an old show that aired on Cartoon Network in the early to mid 90's when I was really young and growing up. It could have not aired in your area. It's a show about two cat superheroes named T-bone and Razor who fight monsters in a jet that they designed. Look it up! I think there are episodes on YouTube or Kisscartoon.com. Looking back at it these days, it has this rough, grungy look that in my opinion makes it even better.
