Description Beep!
Beep!
Be-SMASH!

The young male sat up in bed, rubbing his eye after he had thrown his alarm clock into the wall. He sighed and swung himself out of bed to get dressed so he would be ready for the day.

“With another day… comes another adventure.” He mused to himself, yawning and stretching before he finished up buttoning his shirt, putting his vest over it and buttoning that as well. He fished out his bowtie from his top dresser drawer and tied it on before smiling sleepily at his reflection. He brushed his hair back and tied the raven locks into a ponytail with a white ribbon. Yawning, this one ending with a little squeak, he silently left his room and started down the hall.

-My name is Jay; I’m fourteen years old and a servant to the Latham family with my father, Matthew. My mother disappeared when I was younger and I have no idea where she is nor have I heard from her since. It doesn’t really bother me though, I hardly remember her anyway. -

“Jay!” A black-and red-uniformed teen with knee-length black hair that was tied back at the base of his neck and clear sapphire eyes turned to look at the one who called his name. A 15-year-old boy with short messy white hair and dark maroon eyes, dressed in all dark blue and running towards him with a big smile.

-That’s my young master, Aaron. He is the one and only heir to the Latham family. He’s a good kid, but sometimes he gets into too much trouble… and I’m the one who has to bail him out more often than not because I’m the only one of us two that can go outside due to him being albino and I, of course, not. Young master you’re going to get me fired one of these days, I swear… But you’re my best friend, so I can’t really stay mad at you.

You might be wondering about the family and how it seems to be in the Victorian age even during modern times. Well, the Latham family hails from England originally and came to America during the year of 1841, a few years after Queen Victoria began her reign. Not wanting to forget their Queen or the good times they had in England, they made it tradition for everyone in the family to dress and act as if we were still in that era. Sometimes it’s frustrating, but for the most part it is quite enjoyable.-

“Yes, young master?” Jay asked, tilting his head. Aaron stopped in front of the taller male, pouting once again at their difference in height. Jay was at least 4 inches taller than him.

“Why must you be so tall?!” he whined.

Jay shook his head and smiled, “Because I eat my vegetables.”

“You gave me that excuse last time!”

“And I’ll keep giving it, Young Master, for it is the truth.” The younger male declared in amusement, watching Aaron whine and hop up and down in annoyance at his teasing answer.

-This is a time and time again argument. I’ve been told that the other maids and butlers find this very entertaining and it seems Aaron found out about it, hence why it happens at least once a week.-

“Jay, what are we doing today?” Aaron asked, tilting his head. “Young master has his lessons to attend to while I have to tend to the gardens.” Jay replied, hands behind his back. Aaron pouted, “But I don’t want to! It’s so boring!” “You must, you are the heir to the family and must learn to act like it.” The servant sighed, rubbing his forehead.  Yet again another repeated argument. Aaron nodded glumly, looking off to the side.

“But,” the servant continued, a smile forming. “If young master stays in his lessons for the full time, I wouldn’t mind going to the lake and playing Marco Polo again.” He knew just what buttons to push to get his young master to stay in his lessons where he belonged.

Aaron brightened and hugged the other teen tightly, “You’re the best, Jay!” Jay laughed and hugged him back. “Only the best for my Young Master!”

-So we seem pretty normal so far right? Just a boy and his servant going about a normal day, correct? Well, what if I told you there was more to the story? Sit back and relax for a bit and I’ll tell you how I found out about the dark secret of the Latham family. It started a year ago…-
