Description
Blossom slammed the door shut and turned away. She stood there for a moment then leaned against it. She slid down and sat on the floor, tears filling her eyes. She covered her face in her hands and started crying.
'How could he?' she thought. 'How could he do this to me?'
There was a small tap on the door.
"Blossom?" said Bubbles. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah," said Blossom, wiping away the tears from her face, "Yeah, I'm fine."
Bubbles stood outside the door for a moment then walked away. Blossom listened as her sister's footsteps faded. She leaned her head against the door and closed her eyes.
"How did this happen?" she muttered to herself. She opened her eyes and stared at her ceiling. She thought back to that afternoon. Back to when Princess stole her boyfriend and told her that he never actually loved her.
She sighed and stood up. She went over to her bed and laid down on her back and stared up at her ceiling. She closed her eyes, and took a deep breath. She sat up on her bed and looked out the window. The sky was bright red as the sun sank below the skyscrapers. She stood up and grabbed her jacket. She went downstairs and headed to the door.
"Blossom?"
She looked up and saw the Professor standing in the kitchen doorway.
"Where are you going?" he asked.
"Out for walk," she said.
The Professor walked over to her. He pulled her into a hug, stroking her hair. Blossom broke down and started crying. The Professor rocked her back and forth, whispering calming words to her.
"Shh, shh, shh. It's okay. It'll be okay. It's not the end of the world. There are more fish in the sea." He pulled back and looked her in the eye. She sniffled and wiped her tears away.
"Hey, look at me." She looked up at him. "That boy doesn't know what he's doing. He doesn't know what he let go. I know that he liked you and that you liked him. I saw the way he looked at you. If that wasn't true love, I don't know what is."
Blossom hiccupped and smiled at him. The Professor smiled back and hugged her again. She pulled away and left and the Professor went back to the kitchen. Blossom walked down the sidewalk towards the park. She reached the park and sat down on one of the benches in front of the fountain. She leaned back and stared at the fountain.
"Blossom," came a whisper behind her.
Blossom looked behind her, but saw no one. She looked around in confusion, seeing no one in earshot of her, and looked back at the fountain. She felt warm hands wrap around her waist and she jumped up. She looked back at her seat and saw nothing.
"Blossom," said a whisper in her ear. She turned around and found Brick standing behind her.
"Brick," she whispered. She balled her fist and swung at him. He caught her hand and kissed her. She pulled back and threw another punch at him with other hand. He caught her fist and pulled her close. He looked her in the eye and kissed her gently. Blossom jerked away and looked him in the eye. His red eyes seemed dull and out of focus. He let go of her and walked away.
"Wait!" she said. She reached out for him. She grabbed his shoulder, but grabbed nothing but air. She stared at the spot where Brick was standing. She closed her eyes and sighed. When she opened them, she was sitting on the bench, the sky now completely dark. She looked around and rubbed her eyes.
"Guess I fell asleep," she muttered to herself. She stood up and walked to the fountain. She sat down on the edge and looked into the water. Her reflection stared back her. Her dream played through her mind. She remembered Brick's eyes. She remembered that they looked strange. She paused then stood up.
"That little bitch," she said and took off towards Morbucks Manor. Bubbles flew up beside her and smiled at her. Buttercup appeared on her other side and nodded at them. They nodded back and looked ahead. Morbucks Manor was right in front of them.
