My next entry for the Omniart contest. The contest asked us to draw a picture describing a 'deleted' scene from an RPG. This was when Cloud was being rescued near Mideel after being thrown into the lifestream.Related content

I think for this particular one I used Painter 7 to color.

oh my gosh...... I don't even know how I wound up here but I'm so happy that I did. The way you made the sand and the grass and the water all looks so real. I could just go skipping through that grass right now! That's really how real it looks! And the characters are done nicely. The anatomy is right on the spot, the facial expressions are lovley, and i love the colors and the shading. Now I just wonder how u did such a masterpeice!

holy crap... your detail on the water is WTF worthy.... jesus christ how LONG did that take? thats amazing... What did you color this in? it seems to be comprised of small dots... rather than smooth like your other images...where's Tifa??

This scene is where Cloud is being rescued after being thrown out of the lifestream, so Tifa didn't arrive there yet in the game.

Yeah, definitely try out coloring again! I've seen your pics, and you're fabulous at perspective, anatomy and fabric folds (well, duh for that point. XD) . I'd like to see more art from you, and I didn't think there was anything wrong with your coloring in the first place.

It's meh I think... I have lots of these ideas in my head if I just had a moment to do them. I always get shit from people when I try out perspective and foreshortening. I seem to fail at it every time because NOBODY gets what I'm trying to do >_<

Foreshortening is hella hard. I don't ever attempt it, because I know I'm gonna get slammed for it. XD And my perspective SUCKS. So yeah. If it means anything, I thought the perspective on your Adella and Meian picture was amazing.

I was particularly frustrated with my failed attempt at the horse picture. When I completed it I thought to myself "well that horse looks good!" then everyone's like "IT'S TOO BIG!!" but fail to notice they're supposed to be looking at it from below... which would in fact make it look big. Link's feet are also are in the right position for him to be on the horse. if you look at his feet they go a little lower than mid abdomen.

Your horse anatomy was awesome in that picture, I thought. I wasn't sure about the foreshortening, but I'm no expert on neither horses, nor foreshortening, so without a reference picture, I couldn't really tell if it was correct or not. But that's hella better than I could ever do. I'll tell you that much.

I basically took a horse statue I had and set it on top of my CD tower and drew it as I saw it. I'm going to have to experment with the aforementioned horse picture because I want to finish it and make it look nice without getting screamed at by fangirls for not being good at foreshortening!

Hmmm... I've seen a couple pics with similar themes to this one, I have a 'criticism' for you, something I almost expect to see which you didn't include, don't know if it was on purpose or not. Cloud was in the life stream for a decent chunk of time, there ought to be some 'mako green' lifestream water clinging to him or something, just a thought. As it is, he hardly even looks wet... anyways let me know if you like the critique.

Your critique is certainly valid, but the way I thought of it, the lifestream flowed into the ocean in the game, and he was seen washed up on the beach. The reason why he doesn't look very wet is because he was there for quite some time before someone saw him. I guess it's all how you interpret the game to flow behind the scenes. That's how I imagined it anyway. If other people did the same scene according to their interpretation, the pictures would be VASTLY different.

Not the same scene, similar scenes. In particular I was thinking of a pic I saw where cloud was crawling out of the life stream.
Anyways back to your pic, there does seem to be something missing, if it's not the dampness, then maybe he needs to have some sand in his hair, or something. Just a thought.

Okay, the first thing I noticed when I saw this picture was how utterly amazing the water looked- the sand too! My gosh, how do you do that?!? All of the scenery looks so awesome, you are truly talented. Then I noticed just how good all the characters looked as well, and I paused to picked my jaw up off the ground. *_* I really get a sense of urgent movement by the doctor and nurse(?) in the picture, you captured that really well. This is a beautiful picture,
