It's been a while since I made something from Garry's Mod. Well, I heard on Twitter yesterday that March 27 is the birthday of Boruto Uzumaki--canon child of my OTP Naruto Uzumaki x Hinata Hyuga (Naruhina). And since I have a Boruto ragdoll in my G-Mod addons, I decided to make something cool and a bit humorous for the occasion.

Here, Boruto is standing near the edge of a dock to admire the nice scenery...unaware that Lana from Pokemon: Sun & Moon is sneaking up behind him with a shovel in hand. I wonder what she's planning to do with it.

There's actually a pretty funny story behind the idea of this picture. You see, Boruto is considered a controversial (or polarizing?) character in the Naruto franchise, primarily because he's portrayed as a spoiled brat who has a love/hate relationship with his father due to Naruto's Hokage status. While there are many fans who actual like Boruto, others consider him a disgrace to the series and wish he was a side character instead of protagonist or just didn't exist altogether. So I thought about making a scene featuring Boruto and a character meant to resemble his haters. The main reason why I chose Lana as said character is because I've recently been binge watching the Sun & Moon saga of the Pokemon anime on Netflix (I lost track of the series when it moved to Disney XD and am trying to catch up with it). I'm actually enjoying the saga so far, and Lana is one of my favorite characters in it next to Lillie.

Btw, if you want to know my thoughts on Boruto...While he isn't one of my "favorite" characters in the Naruto franchise, I've grown to accept him. Yes, he was introduced as a brat worse than Naruto was as a kid, but Boruto slowly gets better and more tolerable as his series Boruto: Naruto Next Generations goes on--I think around episode 15 or 16 of the anime is where he starts to truly develop. Speaking of which, I'm actually enjoying the Boruto series so far, mainly for most of the next gen characters, its blend of action and slice-of-life, and the storylines (even if half of them are just fillers). I really hope the English dub for the anime will continue on Toonami some time this year.
