Description My first ever serious attempt at watercolors, not counting when I was really little. I did have a picture of a rose, but I didn't follow it. That's it, really. I like it.

How'd I do?
I'd appreciate the feedback. If I'm wasting my time, tell me so, I don't mind. Tell me why. I might just try again anyways, but I'd thank you for being honest. Not enough of that around here, 'cause people have tender feelings. Or they're just insecure.
'Course, if it's brilliant, don't hesitate to tell me that either

If you know anything useful about watercolors, you could enlighten me. Pretty please? Or give me a link to a tutorial? Google....isn't helpful, in this case.

bellisimo!!! (is that how you spell it?) for someone who is having a first attempt at watercolor its fantastic! I came across your flower while looking for a watercolor tutorial myself..... Do you wet the paper or the brush? I haven't attempted watercolor since third grade...... any advice?

I wet both sometimes...you get different effects with wet or dry paper. Also, you can paint the shape you want in water, and then paint onto that, and the color won't go past the boundaries you have set for it, which prevents it bleeding all over the place where you don't want it to go. Just experiment, and you'll find out a lot...

To tell the truth, I really don't know that much about watercolors myself, I just sort of went with the flow... (haha sorry)

'Preciate it.

Very good use of watercolors, I'd say. I don't see anything wrong with it.
I like the soft colors and how you managed to make them fade out. Beautiful.

I think I went to your page and said thanks for the fav, but I can't remember, so here I say , probably again, hey, I appreciate it.

Talent is nonexistent. It's a name for ability that people feel they could never have, and so they label it "talent" and say "oh, I don't have any talent, I could never be that good." You should have seen my first pieces of art I seriously tried to make. They were awful, but I tried again, and I got better. If you want talent, work for it. That's how the world works.

*deep breath*

Thats awsome, especially for your first time with water colours! I can't wait to see the next one you do If this was only your first try.

I can't either

I hope maybe watercolors are finally something I can be good at without having to work super-hard at it. Usually I have to try pretty hard to be good at stuff, but watercolors have a sort of feel to them.

Thank you very much:<3:

I'm sure I will. Only perhaps with a more dramatic/interesting subject/layout. Still lifes (lives?) aren't really my thing, although I like Japanese-ish spare sorta paintings.
